Working with Voice and Point of View

Date: December 7-21, 2025
Other Date(s): December 14, December 21
Cost:$199

Overview

A voice can make or break a piece of fiction, and the right point of view can let a story shine. How do you know which point of view to pick, and how do you let your character affect what’s being said? Explore the ins and outs of voice and how it is affected by pov.

This class is designed for writers who understand story basics and are looking to advance and refine their short story skills. Students will work with one story over the course of the workshop in order to apply new skills as they are acquired.

Meets Sunday evenings, 7-9 PM Eastern time, December 7, 14, and 21. (3 sessions)

Cost: Free to Super Extra Deluxe Campus Pass holders; $99 for Scholar Level Patreon members, otherwise $149.

Partial and full scholarships available; BIPOC, neurodiverse, and LGBTQ+ writers are particularly invited to apply.

To register, mail cat@kittywumpus.net, say what class or classes you’re registering for, whether or not you qualify for the Patreon rate, and how you would prefer to pay (Paypal, Venmo, check, or some other means).
